The global health crisis
-amplified and reinforced economic, digital and social inequalities
-highlighted in the worst way the importance of healthy ecosystems for a healthy planet and its people
-accelerated digital transformation in education and the need to design and introduce a blended learning model more permanently in education, allowing for greater personalization of learners’ learning.

On the other hand, according to CEDEFOP data, around one-third of EU workers are at risk of digital skills gaps. Based on its note "education and training provision will have to offer ‘robot-compatible’ skills and competences, blending specific occupational skills with key competences such as entrepreneurship and learning to learn" so that learners can direct their learning and know how they learn best in order to better navigate the wide range of available options in school and beyond.
Additionally, there is a common need to:
-raise awareness among our students and communities about the need of tackling climate change on an individual level by strengthening the adherence to Mediterranean diet, ensuring health for both humans and the environment.
-support learners to improve their knowledge, skills, abilities, competencies, behaviors and attitudes so as to ensure a healthy lifestyle, ensuring also a successful transition from school to additional studies or labor market.
All of this was considered in order to be motivated to design a digital health educational course -flexible enough to meet different learners needs- that could be used in any field of education in order to equip learners with the:

  1. knowledge to be critical in the health related information and avoid disinformation and misinformation; make conscious food choices so as to preserve their health; identify the relationship between human-environmental health, health- educational achievements and employability,

  2. skills (digital, 7Cs, and STEM) to achieve entering the labor market.

Thus the topic of this project has a triple implication, namely:

The role of food as a foundation of the cultural identity and community continuity through

The role of a better adherence toward the Mediterranean diet pattern on environmental sust
